Summer Celebration Submissions

The Absurd Collective, in collaboration with Latitude 53, is having a gallery show and we want to fill it with your art! Not only that, but we’ll pay you to make it! The Absurd Collective is looking for youth artists in Edmonton aged 13-24 to create visual art of any kind to be displayed for two weeks in August at Latitude 53. Selected artists will also have all their materials and cost of production payed for by a micro-grant from us. The goal is to create a myriad of art with the theme of summer in Edmonton, that is created over the course of the summer as a representation of that experience. Artists will have the opportunity to meet and work with other young, local artists and display their work in a gallery space for free. We are looking for project ideas of all kinds and mediums, so be creative with what you want to make and how it relates to the theme! Submissions end June 16th, we’re looking forward to hearing from you.

Trash Boy: Live at the Lo-Fi Lounge

A cluster of songs written by Trash Boy between now and 2010. His debut project, these songs were performed live in front of a crowd with a shitty little mic in the Lo-Fi lounge, a private venue in some kid’s basement. Please find the free download on our Soundcloud page.

Dirty Dudes: Dirty Since Ninety-Seven

The first mixtape by Edmonton Hip-Hop group comprised of rapper Dirty Dev and rapper/producer Michael Shrimp. Features by Trash Boy (Braedon Acuna) and Divot. This mixtape ended up driving us to get a grant worth over $2000 from Young Edmonton Grants to have a free youth art show and live performance of the tape. Please find the free download for all the songs on our Soundcloud.
